If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that ice cream makes everything better.

Since 2020, we’ve been striving to show the world just how true that phrase is.

How did Ummber's start?

Cream is the milk world's "gold", never enough to make delicious products like butter, cream cheese, yogurt, and of course ice cream. Back in 2020 when restaurants, coffee shops, and small stores were closed the milk and cream usage shifted. Morning Fresh Dairy had an abnormal abundance of cream that wasn't all being used and began to be wasted. Amber Graves, part of Morning Fresh's team, was not happy about that, the cows worked hard to make that! So she started making both ice cream and butter, in the end focusing on butter because what would you rather 'have' to eat every day.

Starting with an at-home ice cream maker she would start messing with recipes and giving it out to family and friends. Doing some market research she learned there aren't many local, premium, ice creams with simple ingredients. For instance, one of her nephews is allergic to corn syrup and he can't have most ice creams since they are all filled with corn syrup. So of course, pure cane sugar was the better option for her ice cream.

Following that clean ingredient list she decided no on using any gums or artificial stabilizers. Why use controversial ingredients when you have high quality cream that makes a perfectly smooth ice cream.

All of the fruit flavors are only achieved by using real fruit! No artificial flavoring. Before every fruit batch is made we use a blender to blend up the whole fruit then add them in with cream, milk, and sugar.

While the small batch and higher quality ingredients take more time and cost more it is always worth it. If you are going to spend your time making a product you need to be proud of it.

*Of course, not every flavor is free of corn syrup or gums. While the ice cream base is always free of them, sometimes it is fun to add Oreos or Andes Mints.

Where did the name "Ummber's" come from?

The Ummber's name was inspired by the founder's two nephews - during the ice cream testing phases at the beginning her nephews (2 and 3 years old) couldn't say her name correctly. While close to Amber, Ummber was her name. Adorable and excited little voices, what better way to name ice cream that they and everyone can get to enjoy.
